A Falling Branch

A falling branch 
From the maple tree
Descended slow
And gracefully 

It was so dressed 
In luscious leaves 
The air seemed set 
To grant reprieve 

And the bundle was 
So painlessly shed 
I stopped and let 
My mind be led

Should death be 
Always just like this 
The hand of God 
The gentle kiss
