I am also super interested in the Julia Fox book. She’s fascinating! Also, if you’re looking for elevated train fiction, check out ‘This Place on Third Avenue’ by John McNulty. Old school New York short stories. 👍🏻
I am also SO super interested in Julia Fox’s book!! Came to the comments to say that and I find you here too Mike.... maybe we should all read it together...? She is so fascinating I have to know more about her origin story
Reading North Woods brought me a lot of joy this month! My dog laying on his back napping! Fresh apples from a farm stand! The fact that crest white strips actually seem to work as well as they say?!? Being able to wear sweaters! Porkchops (always bring joy)!
I have heard many good things about this new translation of the Iliad and would love to read it, but it feels intimidating.
Also bookshelf chat is real. It took me 3 versions to get the *vibe* right in my little apartment. Basically I have come to the conclusion that I do not need walls but just continuous bookshelves instead.
I am never bored by bookshelf talk. My husband put up a floating IKEA shelf above our IKEA wall shelf unit and it’s made the room so much cozier. He actually referred to it as “our library” 🤓😂 so that brings me joy 🥹
I’m also so pleased you’re loving your joy journal so much & feeling the fruits! It’s such a wonderful thing. My therapist made me get into noticing joy over 6 months ago and I now can’t go anywhere or do anything without making mental notes of observing things that make me feel joy. It’s so sweet when you think about how happy it makes our brains!

Thanks for the rec, Mike!

Absolutely!!! We are silly little things and we are easy to trick. Why not trick ourselves into...being...happy?
Dinner with you!
This was a highlight of my month as well <3
