Friday Morning Haikus

good morning, happy Friday <3

Pale sky, morning sky 
Only blue at the edges 
Rooftops quietly wake

The dog in the bed
Curled in the space between us 
Me awake, you not

Seems to know too that 
Love is a thing owed to him 
And is, of course, right

I count your freckles 
While the tree at the window
Shakes as with a laugh 

At the thought of me 
Telling time by your freckles 
But it’s there, the time 

And right on time, the 
God shadow shows on the wall 
You roll over so 

I count the time now 
By the strong pulse of heartbeat 
Tapping at your neck 

It ticks, life, life, and 
Agony is the parting 
Bed, dog, shadow, you
