The English Understand Wool is a gem. I learned of it from Nigella Lawson, who posted about it on her Instagram. Reading your enthusiastic endorsement makes me want to reread it…again. I just bought Wool Gathering, by Patti Smith, another shortie with the word ‘wool’ in the title!
I've been so into short novels these last few weeks! I just read The Most by Jessica Anthony yesterday. The English Understand Wool sounds so good; put it on hold at the library!

I've heard great things about Wool Gathering! The only book I've ready by Smith is Just Kids, but I absolutely loved it!

Sombrero Fallout by Richard Brautigan is also good but very very weird!
I definitely want to read more by him. He was quite prolific!! Particularly interested in his poetry. Will be reporting back lol
