Wonderful reviews and inspiring ones, as well. I need to get to reading the books I already have before reading any of your suggestions, but I will probably do a little reading of my current stash and venture into some of your recommendations as well.
I really enjoyed this post despite not being curious about these books before reading it. I had the same feeling when I read about Zambra on Regan's post, I was like I need this book!! Which reminds me, I need to get it so I can read it this month (or do you recommend another of his to start?)
I read Lincoln Highway right when it came out and remember enjoying it quite a bit (but remember also finding myself frustrated by the over-the-top black&white morality/characters at times) & reading your review here is bringing back a lot of similar feelings -- what was the point of Sally other than "being the woman character" !! -- definitely didn't like it nearly as much as The Gentleman in Moscow (although crazy to think I read that one a decade ago now), have you read? I have a copy of Rule of Civility languishing on my shelf I haven't picked up yet!
Beginning to consider a similar project to yours .... maybe this is insane of me, but --just spitballing-- thinking of doing a random number generator for allllll of my unread physical copies when picking my next book to read (there are many), and if I don't want to read the one that's generated, donating/selling/gifting it!
I have a few run Robbins on my shed, maybe this is a sign from the universe to finally read them.
